Possible Causes

    • Faulty temperature sensor in the cooktop heating element or control circuit • Thermal cutoff activated due to excessive heat buildup or poor ventilation • Loose or corroded electrical connections in the 240V power supply • Damaged heating element or burner coil (particularly in electric coil or induction models) • Control board malfunction detecting false temperature readings • Buildup of food debris or grease affecting sensor accuracy • Defective thermal fuse in the electrical circuit • Inadequate electrical supply voltage at USA standard 240V

Safety Checks You Can Do

    • Turn off the cooktop and allow it to cool completely for at least 30 minutes before attempting any checks • Verify that the circuit breaker serving the cooktop (typically a 40-50 amp double-pole breaker) is in the ON position; if tripped, turn it OFF then back ON • Inspect the cooktop surface thoroughly and clean away any food particles, grease, or debris using a damp cloth and approved cooktop cleaner • Ensure the cooktop area has proper ventilation and there are no obstructions blocking air circulation around the appliance • For induction models, verify that cookware being used has a magnetic bottom and is compatible with induction cooking • Check that all control panel buttons are clean and free from moisture or food buildup • Review the user manual to confirm all cooking zone settings are correctly configured • Perform a hard reset by switching OFF the circuit breaker serving the cooktop for 60 seconds, then switch it back ON • Attempt to use a different burner zone to determine if the error is isolated or affects the entire cooktop • If the error persists after these checks, discontinue use and contact on 844-731-2978 for Asko service technician for professional diagnosis
